Blanket Jackson Could Receive Over $1 Billion From Michael Jackson’s Estate Under Hypothetical Inheritance Projection

Michael Jackson’s youngest son, Bigi Jackson, could potentially receive more than $1 billion in cumulative inheritance payments by the time he turns 40 in 2042. The estimate comes from a hypothetical financial projection based on the late pop star’s reported estate arrangements, rather than a confirmed payout schedule or an official valuation of Bigi’s future inheritance.

The model estimates three major distributions: approximately $274 million at age 30, $333 million at 35, and $405 million at 40. These figures depend on several assumptions, including a $2.5 billion estate valuation and an annual investment return of 4% after expenses.

The projection also highlights an unusual factor in the Jackson siblings’ inheritance: age. Although Michael reportedly allocated equal shares to Prince, Paris, and Bigi, his youngest son has several additional years for his trust assets to grow before reaching the scheduled distribution milestones.

Important distinction: The $1.01 billion figure is a mathematical projection, not a confirmed inheritance. A November 2026 court dispute involving Paris Jackson has also raised questions about whether the children’s family trust has received the funds needed to make the distributions described in the projection.

How Michael Jackson’s Estate Could Fund the Inheritance

When Michael Jackson died in June 2009, his estate faced approximately $500 million in debt and financial obligations. Its executors, John Branca and John McClain, subsequently restructured the finances and completed major asset transactions.

Sony paid $750 million for the estate’s remaining 50% stake in Sony/ATV Music Publishing in 2016. In 2018, Sony acquired the estate’s 25.1% interest in the company that owned EMI Music Publishing for $287.5 million. A further deal involving Jackson’s recorded-music and publishing rights was reported at approximately $600 million in 2024. Sony’s 2016 announcement and Sony’s 2018 announcement document two of these transactions.

The estate continues earning money through music royalties, licensing, live productions, and other entertainment projects. Forbes estimated that Jackson’s estate generated $140 million in pretax earnings over the 12 months covered by its 2026 report, with more than $50 million in potential future profit participation from the Michael biopic.

How the $1 Billion Inheritance Projection Works

The projection uses a hypothetical $2.5 billion estate value, assumes 4% annual investment growth after expenses, and allocates 80% of the modeled assets equally among the three children. It also assumes Katherine Jackson’s remaining trust interest eventually passes to them and is available for the calculations.

Under those conditions, Bigi’s modeled share starts at approximately $666.7 million. Its projected distributions are:

Age Year Estimated payment
30 2032 $274 million
35 2037 $333 million
40 2042 $405 million
Total $1.01 billion

The same model estimates cumulative distributions of $831 million for Prince and $868 million for Paris. Bigi’s later milestones give his remaining trust principal additional time to compound. This does not mean Michael intended his youngest son to receive a larger share. The siblings were reportedly allocated equal interests.

A Current Legal Dispute Complicates the Projection

There is an important development that makes these figures particularly uncertain. Paris Jackson filed a court request on October 29 seeking a $600 million transfer to the family trust. Her filing alleges that the trust has remained unfunded since Michael’s death, despite the estate generating substantial revenue.

The estate disputes her allegations, saying more than $200 million has already benefited its beneficiaries. The dispute remains unresolved, with a hearing scheduled for December 4, 2026.

Consequently, Bigi Jackson’s projected billion-dollar inheritance should be understood as a hypothetical financial scenario, not a confirmed future payment. The actual amount will depend on the trust’s funding, legal decisions, estate assets, investment performance, and the terms governing future distributions.
