Kevin Gates has reportedly been ordered to direct more than $1 million from the sale of his music catalog to his estranged wife, Dreka Gates, as their contentious divorce proceedings continue. The financial arrangement outlines how proceeds from the rapper’s catalog sale will be distributed, including payments for child and spousal support, legal expenses, accounting services, and mediation.
According to court documents reported by Complex, Dreka is set to receive $929,341.50 designated for child and spousal support, along with an additional $150,000 payment. The two allocations bring her total to $1,079,341.50.
Kevin, meanwhile, is scheduled to receive $538,798 upfront, followed by monthly distributions of $225,000 beginning in October 2026. The court documents do not disclose the catalog’s total sale price or identify the buyer, leaving key details about the transaction unknown.
The order marks another significant development in the financial dispute between the former couple, whose separation has involved competing allegations about family expenses, financial support, and the legal status of their marriage.
HOW THE MUSIC CATALOG PROCEEDS WILL BE DISTRIBUTED
The reported court order specifies several allocations from the catalog-sale proceeds. The money will first be routed through Kevin’s company, Bread Winner Alumni LLC, before being deposited into a Morgan Stanley account overseen by designated financial professionals.
According to Complex, the account will be managed by company chief financial officer Robert Bracy, with certified public accountant William Duerksen also authorized to access it. Kevin himself reportedly cannot be an authorized account holder.
The disclosed allocations include $125,000 for Dreka’s legal fees, $100,000 for her accountant, and $103,000 for mediation services. These payments are separate from the $1,079,341.50 designated for Dreka’s support and direct payment.
The documents do not establish the total value of the catalog sale or explain how long Kevin’s monthly distributions will continue. Consequently, the disclosed figures cannot be used to calculate the transaction’s full value.
DREKA GATES PREVIOUSLY REQUESTED MORE THAN $73,000 MONTHLY
The latest development follows Dreka’s July 2025 divorce filing, which initiated a public dispute over the couple’s finances and family responsibilities.
In October 2025, Dreka reportedly requested $46,274 per month in spousal support and $27,193 in child support. The combined request amounted to $73,467 monthly, or $881,604 annually.
According to earlier reporting by People, Dreka cited irreconcilable differences in her divorce filing and sought custody arrangements for the couple’s two children.
Dreka also alleged that Kevin had stopped providing financial support for the family in 2021. Other claims in the dispute concerned unpaid property expenses and a reported $7 million tax liability that allegedly threatened the couple’s Mississippi farm.
These remain allegations reported during the legal proceedings. The newly reported catalog-sale order does not establish whether the tax dispute has been resolved or whether Dreka’s original monthly support request was granted in full.
KEVIN GATES HAS DISPUTED CLAIMS ABOUT THEIR MARRIAGE AND FINANCES
The financial dispute has been accompanied by disagreements over the couple’s relationship. Although Kevin and Dreka held a wedding ceremony in October 2015, Kevin has challenged whether their union constituted a legally recognized marriage.
Kevin has also accused Dreka and members of her family of taking money from him. Dreka’s attorney rejected the accusations as “completely false and fabricated,” according to previous media reports.
Neither the reported catalog-sale allocations nor the available coverage establishes that these competing accusations have been proven. The financial order instead addresses the distribution and management of proceeds while the broader dispute continues.
HOW MUCH DID KEVIN GATES SELL HIS MUSIC CATALOG FOR?
The catalog’s sale price remains undisclosed, as do the buyer’s identity and the precise rights included in the transaction. It is therefore unclear whether the deal covers master recordings, publishing rights, or a combination of music assets.
Kevin Gates rose to mainstream prominence with his 2016 album Islah, which featured popular tracks including “2 Phones” and “Really Really.” His catalog spans years of releases and represents a significant part of his career as a rapper.
For now, the reported court order establishes how specific proceeds are to be allocated, but it does not reveal the transaction’s complete financial details or settle every aspect of the couple’s divorce.
