Sia has turned half of her music catalog into a reported $180 million payday, with the massive transaction emerging publicly through documents connected to her divorce from Daniel Bernad. The Australian singer-songwriter sold a 50% stake in her publishing and master music rights to Swedish entertainment investment company Pophouse, according to Pophouse official announcement and reporting from Music Business Worldwide report.
The reported $180 million price for half of Sia’s catalog implies a total valuation of approximately $360 million. Pophouse confirmed the 50% acquisition but did not publicly disclose the purchase price in its announcement. The transaction gives Pophouse a stake in the rights behind some of Sia’s biggest songs while allowing the artist to retain the remaining half.
The timing is particularly notable because the proceeds are intertwined with financial arrangements stemming from Sia’s divorce.
Sia’s $180 Million Catalog Deal
Pophouse announced on October 1 that it had acquired a 50% stake in Sia’s publishing and master music rights. The company said it would work with the singer on new creative ventures while continuing to manage and develop her existing body of work.
Sia’s catalog includes major hits such as “Chandelier,” “Cheap Thrills,” “Elastic Heart” and “Unstoppable.” Her songwriting credits also extend to songs recorded by major artists including Rihanna, Beyoncé, Katy Perry and David Guetta.
According to TMZ report, divorce documents show that $165 million of the reported $180 million payment is connected to songs Sia created before her marriage to Bernad. That portion includes some of her best-known compositions.
The remaining $15 million relates to music created during the marriage. That money is being placed in escrow while the former couple determines how it will be divided.

Sia and Bernad married in 2022 before separating and filing for divorce in 2025. Their legal proceedings have already produced significant financial revelations, including an agreement requiring Sia to pay $42,500 per month in child support.
The newly revealed documents indicate Bernad has agreed to waive claims against the $165 million associated with Sia’s pre-marriage music in exchange for a $1 million lump-sum payment. The separate $15 million connected to post-marriage work remains subject to further resolution.
The arrangement highlights the distinction between Sia’s extensive pre-marriage catalog and music created after she and Bernad were married.
Pophouse Expands Its Music Catalog Portfolio
The Sia transaction is another major acquisition for Pophouse, which has increasingly invested in valuable music rights while developing additional entertainment projects around artists and their work.
The Swedish company has previously acquired or partnered around catalogs connected to artists including KISS, Swedish House Mafia, Avicii and Tina Turner. In 2026, Pophouse also entered a partnership with Iron Maiden, acquiring a stake in the band’s publishing and master rights.
For Sia, the deal provides a substantial cash return while leaving her with ownership of the other 50% of the catalog. The reported valuation also demonstrates how valuable her songwriting legacy has become beyond the recordings released under her own name.
With billions of streams and a career spanning more than two decades, Sia has built a catalog that continues generating value through streaming, licensing, publishing and master recordings. Pophouse says its partnership with Sia will focus not only on managing those rights but also on developing new creative opportunities around her work.
